One Exhibition, One Professional Community

Trade fairs are major collective events and, just as importantly, identity-defining moments in which a professional community and an industrial supply chain come together to represent themselves.

Smart Building Expo is no exception. Since its inception in 2017, it has consistently aimed to be the essential meeting point for the many facets of the Italian innovation landscape, with a global outlook, in the fields of home and building automation and system integration.

Since 2023, this mission has been shared with our colleagues at MIBA (Milan International Building Alliance), broadening the perspective to a 360-degree vision of innovation in construction and urban planning. This evolution was necessary, as we have entered the era of the so-called twin transition—digital and energy transformation of the building stock—and the EPBD4 (the European directive on green buildings).

In such a challenging and opportunity-rich scenario, teaming up becomes essential. That is why we continue to emphasize: from November 19 to 21, anyone involved in innovation in the fields of systems, construction, and the ongoing electrification process must be in Milan. That is where the future is being shaped, and where, together with thousands of colleagues, we will seek answers to the many pressing questions regarding technology, market trends, and industrial policies—while providing valuable insights to those tasked with shaping the future of this country.

In Milan, we will also aim to address specific challenges—such as the shortage of skilled technicians and designers capable of implementing innovation—by promoting reskilling and recruitment initiatives. These efforts require real, physical meeting spaces to connect supply and demand.

At Smart Building Expo, we are committed to representing a professional community that goes beyond silos and special interests, because we believe only a united professional network can provide real answers to the extraordinary challenges ahead. And that is also why the traditional concept of a “trade fair” no longer fits us.

Our key objective is to meet in Milan from November 19 to 21: to take stock, to compare notes, to measure our impact—and ultimately, to make our voices heard. Mark your calendars!
