An integrated digital ecosystem by Enmasy/Lux Italia, Molex and Somfy. Technology, automation and lighting come together to create the building of the future—an interconnected space that learns and adapts to the needs of its occupants.
The future of buildings is no longer just a vision: it takes shape at the 5th edition of Smart Building Expo 2025 with an exclusive preview, the “Digital Village,” the “cognitive” building able to interact with its users and adapt to environmental conditions and people’s needs. The project, developed through the collaboration between Enmasy/Lux Italia, Molex and Somfy, represents the perfect synthesis of innovation, sustainability and wellbeing, embodying the digital and energy twin transition that is guiding the evolution of intelligent buildings.
At Pavilion 6 – Stand F41, visitors will experience an immersive environment where lighting, automation and digital infrastructure converge into a single interconnected ecosystem. At the core of the project is Molex’s Power over Ethernet (PoE) technology, integrating Lux Italia’s lighting systems with Somfy’s automation solutions, enabling smooth and intelligent building management. Through CoreSync, the continuous IoT monitoring platform, every device communicates, collects data and learns, transforming the space into a “sensitive” and future-proof organism capable of self-regulating to ensure comfort, efficiency and sustainability.
In the Digital Village, lighting also plays a starring role: Lux Italia’s systems—such as high-efficiency linear luminaires, the Grappolo Tunable White and Sparklaris—combine design, sustainability, energy savings and visual comfort, adapting to the rhythm of the day. “Integrating light into digital systems means turning it into a tool for active and sustainable wellbeing,” says Rita Agnese D’Arenzo Losito, Managing Director of Enmasy and CEO of Lux Italia.
The experience is completed by Somfy, with its automation solutions and the Sonesse 30 motor, which adjusts blinds and shading in real time according to light and wind conditions. “When systems communicate with one another, the building becomes a living organism capable of offering measurable comfort and quality of life,” explains Roberto Mezzalira, General Manager of Somfy Italia.
According to Alberto Biundo, EMEA Business Development Manager at Molex, “the challenge is to rethink buildings as open, flexible and scalable digital ecosystems, where synergy turns technology into real value for people.”
In the Digital Village, every sensor tells a story: occupancy, air quality, temperature and brightness converge into a Molex dashboard, where data becomes knowledge, transforming spaces into adaptive environments.
The future of smart buildings is already here: a new paradigm that combines innovation, simplicity and sustainability to enhance people’s lives and the quality of spaces.
