Cookies
1. What cookies are and their types
1.1 What are cookies?
Cookies are text strings that websites (so-called Publishers, or “first parties”) visited by the user, or other websites or web servers (so-called “third parties”), place and store – directly, in the case of publishers, and indirectly, i.e., through publishers, in the case of third parties – on the device used by the user when visiting this website.
Internet browsing software and the functioning of these devices, such as browsers, can store cookies and then transmit them again to the websites that created them during a subsequent visit by the same user, thus keeping a memory of the user’s previous interactions with one or more websites.
The information encoded in cookies may include personal data, such as an IP address, a username, a unique identifier, or an email address, but may also contain non-personal data, such as language settings or information about the type of device a person is using to browse the site.
1.2 What are cookies used for?
Cookies can be used for different purposes: performing authentication processes, session monitoring, storing information about specific user configurations accessing the server, storing preferences, etc.
Therefore, for an optimized and complete use of a website, it is advisable that the user configures their browser to accept the reception of such cookies.
1.3 What types of cookies exist?
Cookies can have different characteristics over time and can be considered based on their duration (session or persistent), or, as mentioned above, from a subjective perspective (depending on whether the publisher acts independently or on behalf of a third party).
To comply with privacy regulations, cookies can mainly be divided into two categories:
- Technical cookies: used solely to “carry out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network, or to the extent strictly necessary for the provider of an information society service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user to provide that service.”
- Profiling cookies: used to link specific actions or recurring behavioral patterns of identified or identifiable individuals in using the offered features (patterns), in order to group different profiles into homogeneous clusters, allowing the controller to customize service delivery and send targeted advertising messages.
2. Cookies on the site
The consent management banner that appears upon first access to the web page and can be consulted at each subsequent visit allows viewing all information regarding the type of cookies proposed and managing consent for their installation on the device used by the user to access the site.
The site contains the following categories of cookies:
- Strictly necessary (technical) cookies: enable the main functionalities of the website, such as user login and account management. The website cannot function properly without strictly necessary cookies.
- Performance cookies: used to see how visitors use the website, such as analytical cookies. These cookies cannot be used to directly identify a specific visitor.
- Targeting (profiling) cookies: used to identify visitors across different websites, such as content partners or ad networks. These cookies can be used by companies to create a profile of visitors’ interests or show relevant ads on other websites.
- Functionality cookies: used to remember visitor information on the website, such as language, time zone, and advanced content.
Detailed information on the cookies used (name, owner, expiration, description) is available in the cookie banner.
3. How to give consent
Through the consent management banner (cookie banner), the user can modify their consent to the use of cookies at any time.
4. Link to the procedure for disabling cookies
