Niagara at Smart Building Expo 2025: Engaging with the Community
By Federico Perillo, European Business & Sales Development Manager, Tridium
Smart Building Expo in Milan this November is an important moment for the entire building automation sector because it brings people together to exchange ideas, share experiences, and shape the future of smart buildings. For Tridium it is above all an opportunity to engage with the Niagara Community, the network of professionals and partners who use the Niagara Framework® and who make it more than just technology. The community is where ideas turn into practice, where challenges find solutions, and where the collective knowledge of thousands of users keeps growing every day. Through resources such as product information, Tridium Talks, case studies, release notes, and discussion boards, the community makes it easier to navigate complex projects and learn from others’ experiences.
This creates a living forum where anyone can contribute and benefit, making the Niagara Community one of the strongest assets we have developed. As I often say: “At Tridium our greatest achievement is not only the Niagara Framework® itself, but the Niagara Community that gives it life. It is this shared space of resources, ideas, and collaboration that helps everyone get more value out of their projects.”
At the Expo we will also showcase how Niagara is evolving with the Niagara Cloud Suite™, extending building management from edge to cloud. This enables secure data storage, remote access, and centralized management across multiple sites. But what really matters is not only the technology itself, it is how people use it, how they learn from one another, and how they apply it to make buildings more efficient, sustainable, and comfortable.
A building today is no longer a passive structure but a living environment where digital data drives decisions. With Niagara, data can be turned into outcomes such as:
- Predictive, proactive maintenance for increased reliability.
- Energy optimization for enhanced sustainability.
- Improved health and comfort for occupants.
- Smarter operational decision-making throughout the building lifecycle.
Smart Building Expo also highlights the importance of partnerships. In Italy we are proud to work with QuickLink Solutions, our Platinum Partner, who brings local expertise and market knowledge to turn innovation into practical results. Their ability to connect with end users and respond to evolving needs shows how community extends beyond the framework itself and into real collaboration on the ground.
For building owners, operators, and investors, the conversations at the Expo are not just about today’s solutions but also about preparing for tomorrow. Indeed, the questions being asked today—how to make assets more reliable, how to optimize energy use, how to ensure comfort and health for occupants—are part of a larger conversation about sustainability and responsibility. Having a future-proof, brand-agnostic and digital platform helps provide those answers. With Niagara, there is flexibility to integrate diverse systems, harmonize data, coordinate an ecosystem of multiple participants, and evolve as new market needs emerge.
Smart Building Expo gives us the chance to align on priorities and share lessons learned. I look forward to meeting many of you in Milan, hearing your stories, and sharing our vision for the future of smart buildings. Please join us at Pad 6 Stand C39, where Tridium and QuickLink Solutions will be ready to welcome you and continue the conversation.
