From Building to City: from the Italy 1 Giga Plan to Smart Cities
Friday, 21 November 2025
10:30 AM – 12:30 PM
An event co-organized by the Energy Managers Association and the Smart Buildings Alliance
Abstract
The workshop, starting from the Italy 1 Giga Plan, the proposed law on urban regeneration, and the brand-new UNI 11973-2025 standard (Cities, communities and sustainable infrastructure – The contribution of buildings to sustainability – Methodological model for the integration and interconnection of sustainable buildings within cities), aims to investigate the increasingly close relationship between connectivity, buildings, and cities through the lens of the digital and energy twin transition and sustainability.
The workshop will explore how the integration of innovative technologies and sustainable solutions can revolutionize the way we experience urban areas. Through contributions from experts, it will analyze how smart buildings, energy management systems, and digital infrastructures can help create more efficient, resilient, and sustainable urban environments.
