Data Centers: sustainability roadmap
technological scenarios for a strategic infrastructure
Wednesday, 19 November 2025
4:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Event organized in collaboration with DEERNS ITALIA
Abstract
Data centers are the heart of the digital era, but their energy consumption is one of the main environmental concerns. These facilities require enormous amounts of energy to power servers, cooling systems and network infrastructure, contributing to CO2 emissions and resource depletion. However, new technologies are offering promising solutions to make data centers more sustainable. The adoption of renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind, is increasing and reducing environmental impact. Additionally, innovations such as immersion cooling, energy efficiency optimization and artificial intelligence for resource management make it possible to reduce consumption. Modular design and the use of more sustainable materials also contribute to improving the sustainability of these facilities. Thanks to these technologies, data centers can become greener, supporting digital growth without compromising the planet.
